Who We Are

     Sheri and DonTarman opened The Creative Apple in April 1980 as an educational resource for teachers & parents. Their goal was to provide high quality educational materials that could help students, parents and teachers better enrich student's learning. 

     Sheri had been an elementary teacher, substitute, & parent aide before opening the store.  Don was a middle school teacher with 15 years teaching  experience.  It was an easy transition  to helping teachers & parents learn about educational materials that would help their students. It has been 29  years now ( Don has retired after 36 years teaching) running the business while raising  three children, who have also gone into the education field.

     Kami, the  oldest, is a Kindergarten teacher, while son Michael is a middle school P.E. teacher. The last child Cathy, helps run the store while finishing her teaching degree.

 What started as a 1000sq ft store in 1980 have grown into a 6000sq ft store today.
